White Light is awarded contract for the US version of the hit show when it arrives at the Adelphi Theatre.
The Kander & Ebb musical is directed by Walter Bobbie, designed by John Lee Beatty and the lighting is designed by Ken Billington. It opens at the Adelphi Theatre on November 18th.
White Light has been awarded the contract for supplying both the lighting equipment and lighting control system. The majority of the rig is made up of over 300 ETC Source Fours which since the introduction of the 240v lamps in 1995 have become ubiquitous. White Lights rental stock now includes over three thousand of the units.
Other elements of the rig are the UK debut of the Wybron ColorRam 4 scroller for the Source 4 and ETC Obsession 2 console. The Obsession 2 was premiered at the recent PLASA show and the console for the production of Chicago will the first use of the console in Europe.
For the followspots, Ken Billington has specified another three of the Robert Juliat Aramis 2500kw HMI units which White Light first supplied for the current production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
The rest of the production team includes Ted Irwin as Production Manager, Gerry Amies as Production Electrician along with Rob Halliday and Jonathan Badger
Chicago is just one of many shows that White Light has supplied for the West End in the last few weeks. Other shows include: Hurly Burly, The Bible, HRH, Maddie, Letter of Resignation, Delicate Balance, Cinderella and Elektra.
