Modelbox, White Light and The Moving Light Company join forces to design and light the Lighting Industry Federation's National Lighting Design Awards Ceremony
A project led by Modelbox's Christopher Toulmin has seen three of the White Light Group's specialist divisions join forces on a project celebrating the art of lighting design.
In a quick foray back into his earlier career as a lighting designer, Toulmin is to light the presentation ceremony for the Lighting Industry Federation's National Lighting Design Awards 1997-1998. The awards are presented to the best new architectural lighting projects from around the UK. The ceremony takes place at the Savoy Hotel on April 17th .
The set design for the event was carried out by Modelbox, the specialist entertainment computer aided design and visualisation company. Modelbox have also used their rendering and video equipment to generate the video captioning for the ceremony.
White Light and their automated lighting division The Moving Light Company will supply the lighting equipment for the event. Toulmin's lighting design for the show will incorporate a variety of products from MLCo's range, including High End Cyberlight mirror lights and StudioColor wash lights, and Martin MAC500 moving-head spotlights.
White Light will also be keeping an eye on the prize winning designs to see whether any use products from Enliten, a new member of the White Light group specialising in the creation and supply of new architectural lighting products. The company itself has already tasted award ceremony success, with its HQI Source 4 winning a Commendation at the 1997 LDI Show in Las Vegas, and a TCI Product of the Year award from Theatre Crafts magazine.
