New Effect and Architectural Lighting Products

US launch of new architectural and effects lighting products from White Light and its specialist architectural lighting division Enliten on stand 3568 at LDI '98

Callisto

White Light, the UK's premier supplier of theatrical lighting equipment, will be returning to LDI once again after many succesful visits. LDI '98 sees the US launch of the FX/DMX, a new control accessory for their acclaimed and popular VSFX range of animated cloud, snow, flame and water effects. The FX/DMX allows analogue VSFX animation disks to be controlled using DMX lighting consoles. The unit, which is compact enough to be bolted to the side of the VSFX housing, features 5-pin DMX in and out connectors and a 4-pin XLR which connects to the VSFX. The FX/DMX receives its power from the VSFX disk itself, minimising the amount of cabling required. FX/DMX is available now.

White Light's stand will also feature examples of VSFX effects, which can now be found in theme parks, retail displays and theatrical productions throughout the world. The display will include the WaveFX animated water effect first shown at LDI '97, and the Toccata Effects Projector.

Sharing the stand will be White Light's specialist architectural lighting division Enliten. Formed in 1997 to source or create theatrical-style lighting effects optimised for architectural use, Enliten's first product was the HQI Conversion Kit for the ETC Source Four. This kit allows the popular ellipsoidal range to take a 150W, 9000-hour HQI lamp, making it ideal for exhibition and retail display use The kit won a TCI Product of the Year award from Theatre Crafts and a Commendation at LDI '97 in Las Vegas, and will be on show once again this year.

At LDI '98, Enliten are introducing a new product to complement the HQI Source Four: Callisto, a weatherproof ellipsoidal spotlight using a 150W, 9000 hour metal halide lamp. Available with beam angles from 10 degrees to 55 degrees, Callisto offers a bright, crisp beam and can be fitted with gobos or masks, making it ideal for exterior logo projection, framing or effects work. First shown at PLASA '98 in September, Callisto attracted a great deal of attention and has already been specified for projects in Glasgow and Dubai.

LDI '98 runs from November 13th-15th at the Phoenix Civic Plaza, Phoeniz, Arizona; the associated LD Institute courses commence on Monday November 9th. Booking information can be obtained from 001-800-288-8606, or from ETEC Online.
