Elektra To Light Harvey Nichols in Saudi Arabia
Elektra Lighting selected to create the architectural lighting design for the latest Harvey Nichols store

Elektra Lighting, the specialist architectural and retail display lighting design consultancy have been appointed by Mondi Collections Ltd to design the lighting for the latest Harvey Nichols store in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to open in April 2000.

The new store forms part of the Al Faisallah Project, a mixed-use development scheme that includes shops, offices and housing. The overall project architect is Sir Norman Foster, whose recent work has included the new Reichstag Parliament building in Berlin.

Elektra have been working closely with Harvey Nichols for some time now, creating award-winning seasonal and display lighting schemes for the company’s stores in both London and Leeds as well as smaller scale permanent installations. For the Riyadh project, Elektra will be working closely with Hosker Moore and Kent, Harvey Nichols' appointed retail consultants, to create a lighting scheme that Elektra promise will be "innovative, creative and dynamic whilst harmonising with the architecture."

The design for the new project will be scheduled alongside Elektra's many other ongoing projects; the company has recently completed designs for exhibits at Polo Ralph Lauren, Selfridges, Liberty & Co and Harrods as well as permanent installations at the Triangle Shopping Centre in Manchester and Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.
