It's Christmas time - which in the UK means it's pantomime season, with just about every theatre in the country mounting their annual Christmas show. For most this means supplementing their in-house lighting rigs with additional conventional lighting equipment, automated lighting - and many varieties of special effects. And, for many, White Light is the supplier of choice.
The largest of the UK's pantomime producers, Qdos Entertainment, has turned to White Light to supply the equipment for ten of its productions, in Aberdeen (Aladdin), Belfast (Cinderella), Darlington (Snow White), Reading (Jack and the Beanstalk), Richmond (Peter Pan), Southend (Goldilocks), St Albans (Jack and the Beanstalk), Wimbledon (Dick Whittington) and Woking (Cinderella). White Light, working with specialist soft goods supplier Blackout, also supplied all of the Qdos pantomimes around the country with starcloths. White Light has also supplied a number of other pantomimes with equipment, including those in Gravesend (Snow White) and Canterbury (Dick Whittington). On a smaller scale, White Light supplied equipment for the staff pantomime at Number 11 Downing Street, following on from the White Light-supplied rig for the Labour Party Conference earlier in the year! Last, but by no means least, are many local and amateur productions including Ali Baba in Hertfordshire, produced by local theatre company Quintessence and lit by lighting designer extrordinaire Phil Gladman - perhaps better known in his more regular role as White Light's Hire Manager! Further information about Qdos' pantomimes can be found at their website, www.qdosentertainment.com. Further information about White Light's products and services - for Christmas and the rest of the year! - can be found elsewhere on this website.
