Ferrari, Dior and More with Colourhouse
Colourhouse completes a number of high-profile events

Colourhouse Colourhouse, the White Light Group's conference and exhibition lighting specialists, are enjoying a very busy year with a number of high-profile projects completed over the last few months.

At the Royal Exchange in the City of London, now the home of a high profile but very selective retail environment, Ferrari decided to tempt City high-fliers to part with their bonuses and join the four year waiting list for a new car. The bait was two blue Ferraris, one the classic 1960s Daytona model, the other the new 2002 model Ferrari 456. Colourhouse's lighting designer Cliff Williams used the Enliten Exhibition Par, a version of the ETC Source Four Par fitted with a 575W MSR lamp, to light the cars.

In another retail environment, the Selfridges store, Colourhouse worked with lighting designer Simon Tutchenor to create a precisely-sized freestanding trussing system containing carefully focused lights precisely illuminating a new Dior product range. The project involved rigid scheduling, with the load-in only able to begin once the store closed for the evening and everything having to be ready by 7o'clock the next morning. Commenting on Colourhouse's service, Simon Tutchenor remarked "this particular show had all sorts of unique challenges, but I can say that the service you provided made life so much easier especially as, in a difficult environment, I found myself surrounded by a superbly competent, polite crew who showed the utmost respect for the restraints of the venue."

A third project proved perhaps the most challenging not because of the scale of the show, but because - with an extremely sensitive message to be conveyed by the client - Colourhouse were asked to light the show just three hours before the get-in was due to begin, with the venue itself having been given the same notice! Project manager John Hyman, for the client Metro, comments "Colourhouse pulled out the stops for us, and again delivered an enviable service." Though proving that phone call to fit-up in less than three hours is possible, Colourhouse would ask for a little more notice - where possible - from production managers!
