First shown in prototype form at PLASA 2003 in September, PowerTiny has been designed to fill the gap between Look Solutions' Tiny Fogger, the world’s smallest smoke machine, and larger fog machines which are too heavy of bulky for many applications. The 400W Tiny Fogger is just 223x100x210mm and 5kg in weight including the 12V battery that allows it to be used away from the mains for 250 hours on standby, ten minutes of continuous smoke generation or 150 single smoke puffs! Control is via manual triggering, analogue remote through 3-pin XLR or using the optional radio remote. Pre-production versions of the machine have already found use on Jerry Springer: The Opera in London.
The staff of the Royal Opera House are already heavy users of other products from the Look Solutions range, from the Tiny Fogger through to the Unique hazer. "We find these machines in high demand across a wide range of productions here, from the world premiere of Sophie's Choice to Wozzeck and The Wind in the Willows" comments the Royal Opera House's Michael Scott. The PowerTiny perfectly fills a gap in the collection of smoke machines we have here and, based on our experience with the rest of the Look Solutions range, we were pleased to be able to add it to the range of effects we can offer to our designers." The PowerTiny made its Opera House debut in the current production of Cinderella.
At the same time as supplying the Opera House, White Light have added PowerTinys to their hire stock alongside other members of the Look Solutions range and smoke machines from The Smoke Factory and others.
