During the day of Wednesday 5th March, a Strand 530 lighting console was stolen from the control room of the Theatre Royal in Brighton. Following the age-old theatrical tradition that 'the show must go on', the theatre's electrics crew borrowed a desk from the nearby Brighton Dome for the performance on Wednesday night.

They also made a phone call to White Light. The next morning, White Light Sales had a replacement 520i at the theatre, installed, working and ready to run the show that evening.

This was the second urgent replacement console supplied by White Light in a week! The previous Friday, the elderly Light Palette 90 at the Palace Theatre, home to the long-running hit Les Miserables, decided that ten years of hard labour was enough. White Light Sales has supplied the Palace with a new Strand 530i; The Service Company oversaw the installation of the system and the translation of the showfile from Light Palette to 530 format.

Anyone with news about the missing 530 console from Brighton should contact Julien Boast at the Theatre Royal on 01273 764401.
