So It Must Be Pantomime Time at White Light
White Light supplies equipment to pantomimes around the UK - including twelve different versions of Snow White!

White LightSnow WhitePeter PanCinderella If it's December, it must be pantomime season: the time of year when almost every theatre in the UK mounts its traditional Christmas show. All need lighting - and many have turned to leading entertainment lighting supplier White Light to supply that lighting.

White Light is supplying equipment to pantomimes of all scales, from complete lighting rigs going in to West End theatres to additional effects or moving lights for smaller venues expanding their house rigs to provide the extra sparkle and magic that these shows demand. The list includes twelve different versions of Snow White!

Among the shows using equipment from White Light in London are nine productions by Qdos Entertainment, one of the leading national pantomime producers: these include Beauty and the Beast in Hayes, Dick Whittington in Richmond, Peter Pan in Southampton and Southend, Aladdin in Tunbridge Wells and Wimbledon, Snow White in Woking, Cinderella in Wolverhampton as well as the West End pantomime Snow White at the Victoria Palace Theatre. White Light's equipment will also be found lighting Mother Goose at the Watford Palace Theatre, and London's second West End pantomime: Aladdin at the Old Vic, starring Sir Ian McKellen.

White Light in London are also supplying equipment to The Wizard of Oz in Gravesend, school Christmas productions of Jonah at Ravens Park School in Hammersmith and Me and My Girl at Lancing College in West Sussex, and amateur productions of Jack and the Beanstalk, produced by PLOS at the Putney Arts Theatre, and Snow White produced by the Oxted Players at the Barn Theatre.

At the same time, White Light North in Yorkshire is supplying the lighting for Snow White in Aberdeen, Jack and the Beanstalk in Belfast, Dick Whittington in Bradford and Peter Pan in Darlington.

Over the same period, White Light is supplying equipment to countless Christmas parties, as well as other West End and touring productions including The Producers, The Woman in White, Chicago (as featured on the recent Musicality television series), Jerry Springer: The Opera (soon to be filmed for television), BatBoy and plays including By The Bog Of Cats, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Solid Gold Cadillac and the RSC's Hamlet.

"The warehouse is now looking a little bit bare," admits White Light's Managing Director, Bryan Raven, "though we do have a little bit of gear left for any last minute Christmas shows or parties. And we're going to take advantage of most of our equipment being out to do a little stock check on what's left, have a bit of a tidy up and prepare for what is promising to be a busy 2005!"
