When two venues in High Wycombe needed to upgrade their lighting infrastructure, it was to White Light that they turned after a competitive tender: to White Light Sales to supply the new equipment, and to White Light Projects to carry out the installation of the new dimmers.

For the Swan Theatre, White Light Sales has supplied a new lighting rig to replace the equipment the theatre has been using since it opened. The new equipment includes selected products from ETC, Strand Lighting, Thomas and Robert Juliat: thirty Source Four Zoom profiles, ten Strand Toccata profiles, forty Alto fresnels, six Cantata PCs, twenty-four Source Four Par EAs, six Thomas 4-cell cyc floods and two Korrigan followspots. The majority of the rig was supplied in mid-January, but White Light Sales was able to deliver the new followspots before Christmas, in time for the theatre’s pantomime.

The Swan also purchased a complete new dimming system based around Strand’s SLD modular dimmer. A White Light Projects team led by Mark Bradbrook installed three 48-way racks, fitted with eighty-two 15A dimmers and eighteen 25A dimmers, during a run of the touring musical Taboo, which used its own dimmers. The new dimmers include an SLD ethernet interface card, allowing a direct ethernet connection to the new Strand 300-series lighting console with the theatre has also purchased; standard DMX data can then be distributed using a Light Processor Q Buffer 8-way DMX splitter. Rounding off the new infrastructure, White Light Sales also supplied new lengths of Socapex multicore and new internally wired bars.

For the Town Hall, White Light Sales again supplied a combination of ETC and Strand equipment: thirty Source Four Zoom profiles and twenty Cantata Fresnels as well as hook clamps, safety bonds and accessories including irises. The venue also purchased eight Strand SD6 six-way dimmer racks, a Light Processor Q Buffer DMX splitter as well as twelve 6-way internally wired bars and matching Socapex runs.

The new lighting installation in High Wycombe is one of the many projects with which White Light is involved, with White Light Sales currently working to supply new equipment to the refurbished Coliseum Theatre in London and White Light Projects having completed new dimmer installations at the Royal Academy of Music, the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Goldsmiths College and elsewhere.
