Founded in 1971, White Light has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of entertainment lighting. Our background is in theatre: our first job was the transfer of The Rocky Horror Show from the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs to the Kings Road Theatre. We're pleased to say that, thirty years on, we were supplying equipment to the latest tour of the show. The rig was vastly different, including some of the latest automated lighting technology, but we've always aimed to offer the latest and best in lighting technology. Though we now supply equipment to some of the biggest shows in the West End - The Producers, The Woman In White, Billy Elliot, On The Town, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chicago and Les Miserables all use our equipment - we are by no means limited to such shows and will supply equipment to any style or scale of production. We're equally at home serving a West End play (including, currently, Some Girls, Philadelphia Story, Death of a Salesman and The Woman In Black), a school show, a new play in a fringe venue or an international product launch. And, of course, we're by no means limited to productions in London. We also serve touring shows. And even productions overseas: Mamma Mia in Holland is currently using our equipment, as did the recent Miss Saigon in Tokyo. Our sales department dispatches products to locations as far afield as Sydney and Lagos, and our VSFX optical effect system is specified by lighting designers around the world. White Light North, based in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, ensures that our services are as readily available to clients in the North of England and Scotland as they are to customers in the South. The last few years have seen White Light expand dramatically to cope with both the ever-increasing range of technology available in theatre lighting and the ever-increasing range of markets for lighting outside theatre. White Light's staff cover fields including lighting hire, lighting sales, lighting service, lighting installation for areas including theatre, television, events, corporate productions and much more besides. The staff's experience and cross-fertilisation of knowledge fuels all area of White Light. The future? Who knows. All we can be sure of, having passed our thirtieth anniversary and our third year in our new, larger base, is that if it involves lighting for entertainment in some way, we'll be there. Friendly. Impartial. Flexible. And aiming to offer customers the products they need to get their projects done. |
