Set up six years ago, the White Light Training Initiative has proved to be extremely successful amongst students, and professionals alike. The Training Initiative offers courses and activities to broaden skills in broad subjects including lighting and scenic design, technology as well as specific subjects such as DMX and Colour.

The Training Initiative evolves constantly, from the original White Light Wednesdays to our hugely popular Open House days where we open our warehouse and invite you to come in and 'learn by playing'. More recently, with the highly succesful Schools Lighting Master Classes.

We can also create Individual Training Schemes to suit specific users or company needs - training on a specific lighting control system or software package such as WYSIWYG, for example. Training can be held at our Wimbledon base or at your site.

And we have long offered training courses covering the most popular lighting control systems, including the Strand 500-series, the Whole Hog 2 and the ETC Express/Expression line.

Our courses have been, and continue to be popular with education establishments, and our courses are often taught as part of larger college stage management or lighting courses. We also have a long history of supporting student lighting designers through our Student Lighting Bursary, held in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and now merged with the Association of Lighting Designer's Michael Northern Bursary. Products such as our Resource Pack, including stencils, pens, fact sheets, colour swatches and more continue to be invaluable to those starting in lighting.

Details of our forthcoming courses can be found here.
